Results presentation of the Sabento project

Evaluating biotechnological processes in early stages of process development

The project "simulation-supported evaluation of the sustainability of biotechnological production", which was funded by the German Ministry of Research, is about to be finished successfully. It was carried out by ifu Hamburg in cooperation with DECHEMA e.V. and further partners.

The result is a new Umberto-based software called Sabento. It can be used independently of Umberto and will be available in a few weeks.

Sabento has, among others, the following features:

• simple usage and quick application due to a wizard guided approach
• biotechnological reference models
• large biotechnological module database
• estimation of the economic efficiency of new production processes
• ecological and social evaluation

On February 21st 2006 an information event will take place in the DECHEMA building in Frankfurt/Main. We will demonstrate Sabento and the underlying evaluation systems.
