Pioneer of ethical conduct

03.11.2005 - PR

ifu Hamburg GmbH received the ETHICS IN BUSINESS 2005 quality mark for its outstanding commitment to environmental and social responsibility.

The quality mark and the "German Prize for Ethics in Business" were awarded following a countrywide benchmarking survey. The survey, run by oekom research AG, examines the extent to which small and medium-sized businesses operate ethically and with sustainability in mind above and beyond statutory requirements, and how far this philosophy underpins company systems.

Companies like ifu that set the standards in this regard can carry the ETHICS IN BUSINESS 2005 quality mark. The objective is to strengthen trust in business and ensure that the drive for systematic management of values is also promoted in small and medium-sized enterprises.

Project patron, Ulrich Wickert, presented the award at a ceremony in Berlin on 2 November.

Managing director, Jan Hedemann, stresses that the work of ifu Hamburg supports the transition to methods promoting sustainable economic activity. This is because the company develops software for managing flows of energy and materials. As a result, many customers have found it easier to operate on a sustainable and environmentally friendly basis. Ethically correct business conduct is an integral part of company philosophy and is evident in transparent pricing and open communication with customers and partners. The team is also committed to sustainable development in emerging markets. To this end, ifu provides software licences to universities and research institutions free of charge or at reduced rates.
